Bamanomics

Postby Alexandrite on Thu Oct 29, 2009 1:12 pm

The Cash for Klunkers ended up costing taxpayers $24,000 PER CAR.

First time home buyers credit is costing taxpayers $43,000 PER home.

For all you older ones - remember interest rates back when Carter was Prez ? - right at 20%. Talking home buying, major expenditures. That was caused by increasing the amount of currency available. They printed 14% of the total circulation - on top of what was available. In the last 6 months, the US has printed 120% of available funds. math moment

love, you really should stop looking all this stuff up, its just plain upsetting, and its truly NOT worth you getting high blood pressure over!!!

The policies of the new presidency seems to have stolen your joie de vivre and hopes for the future, but please dont give it your health as well....he is simply not worth it. Just vote NAY the next chance you get . I cannot say I am a great fan of any of our politicians either, in fact they have all recently been found out of stealing taxpayers money by claiming thousands of pounds in false expenses...and many have been ousted and shamed into resignation over the scandal.
Most annoying when you are trying to be honest and live within the laws, and scrape by on a ridiculously inadequate disability pension, but I am certainly not working meself into a tizzy on their behalf..I'd rather share my spare time here with my friends, whose love and wit keep the smile on my face despite the big bad outside world.

Remember two things sister, one, You didnt think much of the last guy either... :P

and two, You will always have my love. MMxx

At the risk of being stoned to death... the news here made a huge thing of it, saying it was a very GOOD thing for the Americans that the thing passed... What are we missing here?

Senate votes today. The 2 main Democratic Senators have been bought. Nebraska suddenly got 100 million in earmarks. And Louisiana gets a 5 year break on paying for this monstrosity since it was a disaster area 7 years ago. I Hate Congress (except Ron Paul)

Esther - This whole thing is un-American. Un-constitutional. Have you seen our national debt lately? We are not a socialistic society - Obama wants to "re-distribute the wealth". Which means those Americans who work will pay for those who don't. It is against our Constitution. As a taxpayer, I don't want to spend my money to cover 20 million (minimum) illegal aliens. I don't want my taxes raised by 364 Billion to pay over 10 years for a 5 year plan. I don't want the govt determining what treatment I get from my doctor. Obama wants our personal freedom - and he wants to be dictator of the world. Watch out for "one world government".

sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now.

It passed. Now all the news channels are saying it's just a procedural vote.. blah blah blah
Reid will now go to the Nuclear Option and we are all rudder.

I don't know what it takes for our "representatives" to actually represent US.

It sounds like Belgian politics Alex, they've been doing that here for so long everyone thinks it' s "normal" ..... Maybe that is why they told us in the news it was "a good plan"

NOTHING good has come of this administration!

I agree that politicians are not worth ruining ones health over Mangy. However we Americans take our
freedom very seriously. It came at great cost at the beginning, continued at great cost through the centuries and is the reason for the uproar now. Unfortunately many here in America wanted change - but took this man at his word without asking WHAT change he represented. The "change" was from a democratic society to socialism. It's in the works and now America is lamenting the change that many voted for. Alex, Rek, meself and
many others are fighting the good fight to inform those Americans who
will listen that we need to overturn the socialist trend to take away our freedoms one by one.

We're just doin our civic duty and hoisting the colors to call all American pirates to arms as it
were to spread the news so in 2012 we can vote nay and belay the damage
he has already done.

Well said, LS !!

Today, Joe Lieberman got bought. Looks like ObamaCare will pass. Probably on another late night Saturday vote, so most Americans won't even realise it until Monday - and of corse with the holidays here... they think folks won't be paying much attention !

You see, Obama sent to "Siberia" all the people who ran his campaign. His Cabinet and Czars are all radicals - except the financial arm - they ALL used to work for Citibank and all are millionaires !
Check out this article from Rolling Stone Magazine
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/31234647/obamas_big_sellout/print?source=patrick.net
It's long, but worth the read.

All of our politicians are sworn into office with the pledge "to protect and defend the Constitution" of the US. They are tearing it up. Thousand plus page bills - the Constitution is 6 pages.

Esther - The major networks have been bought by Obama - there is only one TV channel where you can hear the truth - Fox News. - If you get it, watch the Glen Beck show - avoid Hannity......

The other thing the program does that the article does not mention. A person signs away their rights to legally defend themselves if the lender/investor lost the note. It is amazing that 759,000 people signed up for this, at least consult an attorney sheeple!!! It has Obama’s name on it, so it must be ok to sign…..RIGHT?

The trip to Copenhagen cost us taxpayers $533,000 - not counting air fare (military jets). That's 28 members of Congress and 38 staffers.....

The easiest way to keep your poll numbers high is to say nothing and to do nothing that offends anybody.

The minute you actually start doing something, somebody is going to disagree with you.

It's very true, no matter who the president is.

Also, my mom asked me what EXACTLY Congress got done last year so I found this link on Wiki. It lists each and every thing they passed:

Anyone watch the viddies of Obama calling corpsmen, corpse men? I don't think he is ignorant of the pronunciation, I think he did it as a purposeful insult. Let's see..........I have to do SOME praise of the military.....well, I can also add an insult in there too. What a bunghole!

I know it may seem stupid to rename the Post Offices and Federal buildings, but that Post Office in Dade City, Florida?
It was renamed the Sergeant Marcus Mathes Post Office.

Marcus went to high school with me. I didn't know him well and after graduation, he enlisted in the army. He served in Afghanistan and was serving in Iraq when his equipment truck was stuck by enemy rocket fire. He died.

So, I think some of those buildings being renamed for those we shouldn't forget are justified.

Oh Erica, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to insinuate that it was dumb to rename the post offices and stuff...it just seems like they did more of that on their calendar than anything else. We have a school locally named after Todd Beamer, one of the guys who died on 9/11. Even though postal offices are federal jurisdiction, it just seems like that could be done on a local level, say through the governor's office, or even a local senator. We have really big fish to fry in Washington right now and it just seems like these renamings could be handled just as well elsewhere.

I wish they'd rename some of the buildings around here for the fallen police officers as of late. We have had more than our share in the past few months.
