Hiya mates... Just home from another busy morning. Picked my two friends up and we then drove out to the feed store to buy our supplement for the mash( we were running short) and then headed to the barn. Cruz was in today so I gave him a clean stall and made his favorite mash with goodies and meds. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that he's started to shed. Mind you, its getting up to 4C today and its sunny. Played with the cats and dogs before heading home, but one of my friends wanted to do some shopping, so we headed off to the supermarket superstore, where we always seem to pick up some type of goodie for a good price. Today oranges were on for 49 cents a pound... yummy. I intend to cook my pot roast for dinner tonight with all kinds of fresh veggies. Will have some leftovers if anyone is interested... Off to have my han soon, so will see you all later

Hiya mates... Just up from an extended han. It's a lovely sunny and slightly warm day today...above zero and the birds are singing like a true spring day. Spent the morning at home as I've got a sinus headache which came on last night. Took some meds and I feel much better this morning, except for a bit of sneezing. I'm sure its not anything serious. Not doing too much today and headed back to bed for my han soon. I hope everyone is having a great day...

appy I slept through what part of the storm we did get yesterday...sick, sooo sick. Stupid SIL got it first last week, and then sent her unwell children and hubby over to inlaws (where the rest of us were) while she recouped, and exposed everyone. So at least 6 of us were down and out. I still feel seasick today.

Ahoy me Lovies! Once again I find myself apologizing for neglecting me dear Maties. Please forgive me. Life in general is not so good right now. Work is getting very difficult as I transformed (molded) into a supervisor. It is a difficult process. I have no time to take care of anything while at work. Before, I could take a moment here or there to make a phone call to check on the QM or use my breaks to do whatever. Now I hardly get the time to take my breaks or lunch. Everyone wants a piece of me. I get home so exhausted that sometimes I go straight to bed. Add all of this with my feminine health issues and all I need to do to keep The Manor I shape and I am barely getting by. Too much work for this piratess to handle. Then I had to pull an Alex (ye know I love ye) and broke me toes on me right foot. Will the bad juju ever end? Anyhoo, it's hard for me to keep up here. I'll try post when I can. Don't be worried if ye don't see me fer a while. If anything happens to me CR knows how to post to ye aboard this great ship. Huggles and know that I miss ye but will really try to at least peek in until I get past all of this muck and mire.

Good morning mates... Just home from the barn on a sunny but cold morning. It is supposed to be 3C today, but this morning it was -9C...brr. At least it looks nice out and the snow is melting somewhat. Lots of geese resting in our fields, honking all the time. Cruz was in today, so I fed him his goodies, mash and meds after I did his stall. News in the barn is that Two Fast has a new home. He was adopted by a young teenager and her family to become part of their herd and be transformed into a riding horse. I'm glad he's got a new home and will be spoiled by someone. We'll miss him, but he never really did fit into our barn. At least he has a new home now, so we have an empty stall next to Cruz, so who knows who will come in next. We played with the cats and dogs for a bit, and then headed home. I have laundry to do today, but other than that, not much happening. I hope everyone has a great day

Lady S, never feel bad about not posting here so often. Life does get in the way and that is perfectly fine! You are greatly loved here. Please take care of yourself! That is the most important thing.

I didn't think I was getting over the sinus issues so I went to my ENT. He said I was just fine and it was the cold weather that was making me feel so bad. Sigh.
Scar Em has been having sinus issues for a couple of weeks. I took her to the doctors on Friday and she was put on an antibiotic. Yesterday she seemed worse than ever! Constantly sneezing, runny nose, coughing. She didn't act like she felt bad. We put a humidifier in her room last night and that seemed to help. But then she kept talking in her sleep. I would go check on her thinking she was awake but she was sound a sleep. At one point she said "Mommy, read me what is on the page." Not sure what she was dreaming about.

We went to see Alice in Wonderland at the midnight showing last night, and it was great! We didn't get home until almost 3am, and I never did get to sleep. Would only have gotten a couple of hours of sleep anyway. I'll probably fall asleep on my charts today at work! Was worth it, though! The theater was packed, and they said it was sold out. Glad we had gotten our tickets ahead of time!

This weekend we have the Pensacola Ren Faire, so that will be fun! And the weather is supposed to be perfect!

Hiya mates... Just home from the doctors where my bloodwork was just where it should be, but my BP was up a bit...grr. Might be it was because I didn't take my meds early in the day as usual, as I slept in. My friend let me have the day off today, so I went back to bed... Did I tell you that I love my friend... Did a bit of grocery shopping on the way home, so am settled in my comfy chair with my heating pad on my sore back, my feet up and a cup of hot chocolate to drink. Oh, and its a sunny warm spring day today, so I opened one of my living room windows a bit for the cats. I'm sure it won't be open for long, but its nice to get some fresh air into the house. Hiya everyone... Had a lazy day today after getting home from the barn. It was a very cold but sunny morning which turned nice this afternoon. Cruz was in, so I gave him his usual clean stall and mash with his goodies and meds. I am definitely going to give him a good groom on Monday after he is out in the sun again tomorrow. I can't believe the hair that is coming off of him right now. I sat in the sun, surrounded by cats and dogs today... it was very nice for sure. We all enjoyed the warmth and company. There is still a covering of about a foot of snow on the ground at the farm, but my front lawn is bare where it faces south. My west lawn is still covered, but melting. The forecast is for warm weather for some time during the day, but coooold nights. Didn't do too much today except read the paper and do some housework and have my han... which was long and lovely. I hope everyone had a great day

Just a quick note as I get ready for day two of the Pensacola Ren Faire! Yesterday was fantastic, with perfect weather in the 60's! At about 2:00pm we heard that the gate count was 8,000 people at that point, which is great for this ren faire!

Too much Olympic fever to get to this forum last weekend...LOL That was an awesome hockey game last Sunday afternoon and the dogs were really with all the yelling at the TV and screams of 'are you crazy-SET UP THE PLAY' and 'OMG that bodycheck was SO on purpose...CALL IT SOMEONE FOR THE LOVE OF PETE'....LOL. Enjoyed the speedskating and curling(so thats where all the hot men are hiding!). Wish hockey games could that gripping all the time! LOL
Still snow on the ground here, sunny days the last few but not warm enough to cause the sea of mud that is sure to come in another few weeks-no looking forward.
Yes, Canadian national anthem is in both national languages. In school, you learn both. Often you have a half and half version but mostly I sing the English one.
Alex-that mailbox ROCKS OMG! You aren't afraid of someone baseball bating it? We don't have that happen as much anymore but you can drive locally here in summer months and see what the teens and/or drunks have done on certain concessions and sideroads. Its very unique.
Oh MAJOR bummer to Dead on the basement. We have a sump pump also here and while not in recent years, have gone down into basement to discover 'an ocean'. Its never amusing and no longer store much of anything down there.
Renos continue here, I've totally lost the grooming room but the use of the tub. At least there is forward movement happening with it. I'm concerned that it get done before spring and puppies arrive. Paws crossed.
Dogs all OK here. Mabel goes in tomorrow for her hip and elbows certifications. Hard to believe she is almost 20 months old so thats how long its been since the last POTC movie release. Perhaps we'll have an opportunity next year to celebrate a new litter out of Mabel with the release of On Stranger Tides! I am helping out at the Living Legends booth that the Canadian Kennel club runs at next weekends Purina Invitational. Mabel should enjoy being the Lab rep and meeting lots of new people and making new friends. I'm looking forward to just getting off the farm! LOL

Hiya mates... Just up from my han, which I fell into after getting home around noon today. I picked up my two friends and Numa the wonderous lab, and we headed to the barn. Cruz was out enjoying the sunshine and hay with his friends. The temps are supposed to climb to 9C this afternoon, and you could tell a lot of snow was going to melt today. After doing our chores and playing with the dogs and cats, we headed to Trissas to enjoy breakfast with two of our friends. We'd planned to have a birthday party of sorts for one of our friends, so she got all kinds of nice cards from us and gift cards too, and was completely embarrassed when our waitress brought out a cream puff with a candle on it and the whole crowded restaurant of over 200 people sang happy birthday to her. Not sure if she was touched or embarrassed... lol. We sat and chatted till almost 11:30 and had a good laugh. Drove my mates home and headed home myself. Now, I'm just going to chill and get supper ready for the oven. Am looking forwards to watching the Oscars tonight, even though JD won't be there. Maybe next year he will get nominated and show himself on the red carpet. We've decided to go see the movie on Wednesday afternoon, as there are five of us who want to go. It will be in 3D and my one friend has already promised to see it again with me the next week...gotta love good friends... I hope everyone has a great day and the weather is fine for all

Hiya mates... Just home after a busy day. My friend told me to go back to bed as she was taking her grandson to the barn this morning. He's been suspended again from high school for missing classes, so she was taking him down to work all morning cleaning stalls and sweeping cobwebs from the barn. Its a dirty job we do every spring, so J can do it for us as punishment. So, I went back to bed for a bit, then got up, had breakfast and got ready for my appt with the periodontist. She deep cleaned my teeth for about a hour, and with all I have been doing, my gums are in a bit better shape then they were in Dec. I have to come back in six months for another treatment and see my dentist in three months. Seems I'm stuck doing q3mos treatments until she is satisfied...sigh. No needles today thank goodness as my tongue hasn't recovered from the last one when she nicked the lingual nerve. Then I had some shopping to do on the opposite side of the city, so I just got home. It was a glorious day today... 8C and sunny. You can see the snow melting every day. Cruz was in today, but tomorrow is supposed to be just as nice for him being out. I watched the Oscars last night, and there weren't too many surprises, except it was too long and a bit boring, esp without JD there. Fingers crossed for next year. I hope everyone is having a great day...

Just heard on the news that Boeing got the aerospace contract that Mobile was hoping would be awarded to a company here. Not good news for Mobile, but it is good for my brother who works for Boeing! His Boeing stock will go up, I'm sure!

Had another night of sewing, and that will no doubt be the case for every other night this week!

Good morning! It's midterm day here so I have lots of crabby students. AT least they're quiet!

I know it sounds like my school is awful with all the lock downs, etc. but the truth is we don't have nearly as many problems as most schools for no reason other than that we DO have periodic checks for drugs/weapons/alcohol. That's not to say that we don't have drug dealers on campus, but the numbers are dwindling. Either that or they're taking their business elsewhere.

I STILL do not have my car back. It was supposed to be ready last Friday, but now they say they might have it done by this Friday. I am not a happy camper about that.

What IS making me a happy camper is that I'm going to WDW on Friday and Saturday! I can't think of a better way to spend my unpaid leave day. Just curious, does anyone really believe that calling it an "unpaid leave day" sounds any less negative than "furlough?" It just means I have to squeeze everything I normally have to teach into six fewer days with less compensation.

MG - I think SE and Catie-Beth would be great buddies if they knew each other. That might not bode well for the rest of us though.

Hiya mates... Just up from my han. It was another wonderful warm ( 12C) day with lots of sunshine. Tomorrow starts a five day rain stretch, so we all enjoyed the warmth and sun this morning. Cruz was out today and enjoying himself. The snow pack in the paddocks is almost gone, so mud will be a real problem over the next few days for sure. I plan on grooming him tomorrow so that he at least is clean before the mud. Played with the dogs and cats this morning and had a great time before driving home. Stopped and did a bit of shopping on the way, and settled the morning with eating breakfast and reading a bit. Had one of my windows cracked open a bit for the cats for a while, but closed it before my han. Nothing much going on for the rest of the day. Plan on watching a bit of our mens curling brier on tv and maybe some American Idol. Hope everyone is having a good day. Tomorrow I'll be seeing AIW with my friends... YAY...

Esther... life is always important. I read your post in SOS and am so sorry for your bosses incompetence. But as BC said, maybe this is the time something wonderful will happen that wouldn't if you had gone a different direction with your job. Huggles and don't despair... things will get better

I have been helping CW get ready for his trip. He left this morning and is now safely in Canada. And I am so jealous! He is just up the hill from a Tim Hortons! I told him he must go there for breakfast! Must!! Absolutely!!
After his Canadian business tomorrow, he is on to Detroit. He should be home on Thursday. We miss him.

I just found out that my brother wants Em to be the flower girl at his wedding. I asked Em and she said she didn't want to because she wants to be an animal doctor. I don't know what goes on in her head. She is convinced she can't do both!

Erica, It would be fun to see the girls together!

I'm back from WDW! Had a great time, as usal! And I DID IT! My 1st half marathon!!!!! It was awesome having all my hard work paying off...It was a crazy day, couldnt sleep the night before, fell asleep just after 1am and was up @ 3am, got a cab from our villa to Epcot about 3:45am..And it was cold, in the 30's @ that time, we were all frozen! Hung out with some friends of mine that were running, until we had to go to our corrals...The race for my corral started @ 6:21am..Main Street @ the MK had opened @ 5:30 am, so folks could cheer on their family and friends...I was soooo happy to see Scott cheering me on as I was going by about 8:00am ish...When I got to the finish line back @ Epcot, when I saw him I started to tear up, when I crossed the finish line, I was crying my eyes out!!!! Couldnt believe it was the same me, the same Jen that used to be 100 lbs overweight, and used to smoke between 1-2 packs of cigs a day, now I'm a medal wearing, marathon finisher
The only negative, one of my toes started to really hurt after the race, by yesterday, it hurt like heck and was white and like a bubble Went to see the nurse @ first aid @ epcot yesterday and she said it is infected for sure. All see is really allowed to do, put some bacatracin on it, and bandage it, and give me pain killers...Thank heavens it had been fairly warm, hadnt been able to get sneakers on since the race ended, so I had to wear sandals, not quite warm enough when ye land in Boston in midnight...Anyway, I've already called doc and have a 1:30pm appointment today, since I've got to go back to work tomorrow.

I'm about to give my last midterm then it's off to enjoy a four day weekend. I think I'll start by going to see Alice in Wonderland tonight.

I am really grateful that my tooth doesn't hurt any more than it does or else I would be about to kill someone. I still don't have an appointment for my root canal. Between waiting for the doctor to look at the xrays and finding out what day they do that particular tooth number it's taking quite a while to get it taken care of.

This time tomorrow I'll be on my way to WDW!

Ok, just got back from my doc...Says it's not infected because it's draining clear not pus..(sorry to be yucky) so she put me on strong antibotics, said to keep it covered, wear loose shoes, sandals when I can, and no working out the rest of the week.

Hubby is heading to KS tomorrow for a friend's wedding. Supposed to rain and be cold the whole time; I'm wondering if that will delay his flight. I'm already not thrilled about having to pick him up at 11PM the night before we turn our clocks ahead. Even more sleep lost.

ladies, been too long since I made an update so heres the low down on whats new in Bonnie Scotland.

We are slowly but steadily getting the extension ever cloder to the finishing post...we now have a tiled wet room floor, plaster on the ceiings and the power shower plumbed in. We have replaced the old double glazed narrow door to the kitchen witha new wheelchair width internal door, as that now leads into small entrance hall and new bedroom. The frost has gone, so the builder is outside, on scaffolding going steady on the exterior upper brickwork. . we are discussing showerwall colours and laminate flooring!!!

We have sacked the care company we had been provided with and have employed our own choice of persoanl carers for Rob. Its marvellous - like chalk and cheese. He is happy and joking and relaxed in the mornings now, knowing full well that we have reliable and efficient help. Thank Heavens. Thats a big worry off our shoulders. We know have TeeJay from my pirating at Culzean pics, as mon to thursday helper and a fellow, Mick for the weekends...and they are good, pleasant, prompt and caring.
Robert even had soft boiled eggs and buttered soldiers cooked perfect for him by request the other morning.. unheard of!!

We are still trying to save and provide the materials for the decorating of the move round, but that is at least the pleasant end of the expenses, and a great excuse for buying in my interior designer dreams.lol.
Saving hard to make a trip out to Texas in October, and now looks like we have found caring back up. so alls well there.

Robs birthday was the 4th, so we had a bottle of good wine, a nice meal out and a trip to the IMAX to see Alice last Sunday.
Really enjoyed it and hope to go again soon, just to make sure I let it all sink in. ..many are saying its his best movie for a while, and I would have to agree...besides Johnny in a kilt and talking my language is just a bonus I cant ignore!!

Been spending a fair bit of time taking my father about, his arthritus in his left knee is drastic and he is now on the list for a replacement, if we can med him up to fit the surgeons criteria...so meantime I am chauffeur, pill fetcher, rubbish dumper, grocery shopper... you get my drift, nothing a good and loving daughter minds , but I am STILL trying to finish Stranger Tides... sigh.

doing a bit of ebay selling in between doggie training and domestic engineering...so I must say that I dont now know how I ever had the time to fit in a working day!!! All here are fine and well, and starting to see the end of the building nightmare in sight, so smiling too.

Esther, part of my decor for the new bedroom is a purple quotation for above my bed.. it says, 'JUST WHEN THE CATERPILLER THOUGHT THE WORLD WAS OVER, HE CHANGED INTO A BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY' good motto love, and very Alice too If I may say so.
