My friend that wanted to go to Mexico? Just bailed on me, booked it herself Said she's too much of a control freak to let anyone do it for her...Well, anyone that knows her, knows she's a control freak, so why did she ask me in the first place? I spent hours, days researching Mexico for her I know it comes w/the territory, but when it's a friend who knows how broke you are, it just stinks...And Tammy family bailed, too when it's your life long best friend who absolutely knows how broke we are, I really wish I could scream ''why werent you sure before you asked me?'' sigh...that was my best shot at get commission in the not too distant future (well, September) Oh well, like I said, it comes w/being a travel agent, not their fault I'm independent and dont get paid.

Hiya mates... Just up from my han in the ac again...its another hot day with humidex over 40C and now I hear we are in a tornado watch. We've already had lots of rain and now the sun has come out to make conditions good for a tornado. We all headed to the barn early this morning before it got omnipresent and got out stalls done. Didi a bit of shopping on the way home, and then hurried inside to get away from the heat. My neighbour said he would be over sometime this weekend to cut the lawn, which is fine with me. Its stifling out there and I don't do well in this heat. Not sure if he will be over today or tomorrow, but am so glad he is home. I'm just sitting around trying to keep cool today, so no plans now. We are going out for breakfast tomorrow after the barn, but thats my only plan.. lol I hope everyone has a great day and its cooler where you are

BC ... oh my dear mate. Maybe CSW can go and get you some meds to keep your temp down and feeling better. Try and have a tepid bath to get cooler too. Esther, what I meant about going to Walmart up here getting you shot at , is our Walmart stores are frequented by unsavory characters (yes even for us pirates) and not long ago there was a big shootout at the one near us. An armored car driver was killed and the money from the truck was stolen. Very sad.

BC are you feeling better now? That fever is not good and you don't want it to get too high. I agree people who are sick should stay home, but if they are like me, they have no sick leave and can't afford to lose a day's pay. Stinks, doesn't it!

I've just finished up the first batch of peach jam - 11 jars - I have ten more pounds ready to cook and ten still to peel. I seem to have made myself a very efficient one person assembly line! My grandmother has already promised me some guava juice when hers get ripe so I can make some more guava jelly. I think we've already eaten all of the strawberry I made back in May. I think I may tackle grape next. I'm turning into a regular domestic goddess!

Well, my temperature is down to normal today, and hopefully it will stay that way! Yesterday morning it was almost normal, and for most of the day, then in the afternoon it went up to 100 degrees again. Been taking my antibiotics and my aspirin, so hopefully I can stay fever free today!

Sigh...Owner of agency told me to check the disney travel agents website, they doing an onsite training course! Woo hoo I thought, I gotta check it out! Ugh not having money stinks...Professionally I would love to go..Its 5 days, $345...Now that is cheap for 4 nights hotel, tix for the parks when the trainings are over, 1 meal a day on the 2 travel days and 2 meals a day on the full days of training....So it's cheap in that respect, but I still gotta get there...And I'm not making any money yet..So guess I'm not going I still have the 8 days vacation booked in Dec, and I dont know if I can do that either.
I'm so frustrated today.

Hiya mates... Just home from the barn on a lovely but cloudy day. Finally the humidity has dropped to a bearable degree. I picked my friends up this morning and we traveled to the barn and did stalls. Played with the dogs and cats for a bit and then we headed to Trissas for breakfast. Spent a good time eating and talking, and then I drove my friends home. We're going over to my one friends house tonight for dinner, so no cooking today. I'm hoping on getting the grass cut today too... so a good day for all. I hope everyone has a great weekend

Greetings mates. I just made me first Ebay purchase, and am quite proud of meself (getting positive feedback helps)! Since I couldn't find the 1408 soundtrack anywhere (even the bookstore kiosk where I usually order stuff I can't find had it listed as sold out or "temporarily unavailable to order"), I thought I would try Ebay. The only other item on Ebay I won I never received, but that was probably due to the fact that I moved since I won the item. It was the box set of the original Elm Street movies, and since that obsession didn't last long, it was probably a good thing it never arrived (I would have had to return it if it did).

Because of the 1408 soundtrack (you should see the pictures in there), I watched the movie last night (first time in me new place) to see if it sounded the same on the movie as it does on the soundtrack. It does, but I wasn't paying that much attention since I didn't have the soundtrack yet. It's just the score and not the song by the Carpenters (We've Only Just Begun). I was even thinking about using it as me ringtone, but now I'm not so sure, since I may not be able to listen to it.

Sorry about all the movie talk, but I haven't been doing anything else lately, except putting me Pirates fan fic back in me LiveJournal account. Since I haven't wroten that story in a while, it was a bit on the tricky side. Ta Ta for now, mates.

Feeling fine this morning and my temperature has been normal for the past 24 hours, so it's off to work as usual this morning! Good thing, too, as the co-worker who shared her illness with me has this week off to care for her husband who is having lithotripsy for his kidney stones.

Didn't get much done this weekend except some laundry and vacuuming done yesterday.

Nothing much to report from here...More the same old stuff, looking for work, and doing travel agent studies...I'm becoming a FL specialist now Scott has to go to unemployment office today to see what the heck they are doing
and I just took my last dizzy pill, my health insurance ($277 a month, UGH) doesn't kick in until a week from today, I have to see what they'll give me...I know I cant go 6 days without it.

There was something on our news about a major accident on an event in Germany... I just hope she is ok???

Sweety ... I am fine, no worries ... that tragic accident happened in the city of Duisburg, wich isn´t even near, from where I live.
It´s more than 150 kilometers away.
My sis used to live in that area ... just a few kilometers away. But she moved to another city, nearer to her working place last spring.

I am just so very sad about all the victims, that caused it. Germany is in total shock since Saturday.
We have to mourn for 19 dead person and more than 340 injured so fare.
This place, where the event took place, was meant for 250 000 people ... and more than 1 million showed up that day and wanted to join the event.
There was only one way, where you could go and leave the place of the event ... a tunnel ...
So everybody, who still wanted to join, tried to go through that tunnel ... even if the police started to close the gates,
cause the place was too crowed alllready. Than the tragedy began ...
The crowd got stucked and people started to climb up the fences, trying to get out ... panicked.
... also to get to the barrier ... some started to climb up the walls and small stairways ... and fell ... back into the crowd ...
Some victims fell deadly ... or were injured very bad, some were tramped down ...
A horror scenario ...
The city (along with the mayor), the organizer of this event acted absolutely irresponsible.
And right now no one will take the responsibility for it. Unbelievable ...

This is all so sad and I have no words, other than I am totally devastated about it.
What should have been a fun and great event day ... endet up in a total disaster.

HP, my goodness, what a tragedy! How awful that there was only one exit---is that even legal? I am glad to hear you are safe, though. Has it gotten any cooler at all over there?

Esther do you have an ear or sinus infection? It sort of sounds like you do. Glad to hear you are feeling better though!

Jen wow, I hope Scott is able to get an extension for his benefits--did they goof and stop his payments? I hope you can get something figured out about your meds, too. Maybe they could give you enough to get through the few days until your insurance kicks in? Man I wish you could go to the on-site training, that sounds terrific. Does that include your travel there?

BC--lithrotripsy...gonna have to look that one up, let's make it the word of the day! Glad you are back to health too. Next time you come up you can shop at TJs and Uwajimaya! There's a TJs on my way home but I can ususally get something cheaper at Fred Meyer/Kroger.

Well my sister in law the dentist informed us that she is expecting # 2 in March--this will be niece or nephew # 7 for us. I swear that side of the family is like a bunch of rabbits! Whelp and I were talking about names, and he came up with Jessie, Vanessa, or Juliet for a girl. Nice names. For a boy, he said....Salamander! Because it would rhyme with big brother's name Xzander! LMBO My sister in law got a big laugh out of that. I hope it's a boy just so we can call him that for a nickname!

HIya mates... Just up from my han... in the ac even though its a much nicer day today with a humidex of only 31C. We even have a nice breeze. Had a nice evening last night, and my neighbour came over and cut the grass for me as well. It looks great and even green in most places. We had a nice evening too at my friends for supper. Today I picked my friend up and drove to the barn. My two friends are getting ready to leave tomorrow with their horses for a week camping in Wiarton, which is on Georgean Bay and the Bruce Trail. Its a lovely camp and there will be up to 80 horses and riders there this weekend. I helped them get their trailer ready and then we drove home. They have a lot to do today to get ready. After breakfast, I headed to my bed for my han. Doing laundry this afternoon and the cats are happy with all the windows open in the house. I hope everyone has a great day, especially for the first of the work week.

They sent him home and told him to come back tomorrow. Having my car towed to the local Dodge dealer tomorrow morning. Should be about $50 for the towing which State Farm said they will reimburse when I turn in my receipt. The towing company also said I could ride with them, then I can get a ride to work from the Dodge dealer. The service department guy said it is probably either the alternator that's the problem or the computer is not sending the right signals to the alternator. They will diagnosis it and fix it.

I started week 6 of 5k training yesterday, that went pretty well....Today I'll just walk on the treadmill...Nice enough this morn to go out and do it, but I'm half asleep.

Ugh today should be suspended. Ran out of milk, forgot my jacket, got stuck in traffic, and now my husband's stupid doctor wants to put a cast on his foot to "relieve pressure" for this blister that is healing. There is no pressure on his foot! The last product they gave him helped shrink the blister by 2 cm so why didn't they just use that again!?

Perhaps I should have gotten up and talked to you Jen. I'm having insomnia troubles again. I better get over it quick since school starts on Monday.

Today is my brother and SIL's 14th anniversary. We're sending them out on a date. Mom and I are taking the girls to dinner (McDonald's anyone?) and then to a movie. This is the first time ever we've been allowed to take them somewhere without either my brother or SIL with us. Abbigail (the 7 year old) told my brother he needed to buy Michelle (my SIL) a new dress, some high heels and a plastic crown for the occasion. Perhaps I can let her borrow one of my plastic tiaras.

We found out yesterday that instead of being paid before Thanksgiving and Christmas, we will now be paid at the end of the month. I'm grateful to have a job, but I do get annoyed at them holding money I have already earned. It doesn't bother me so much with the summer checks because it makes life a little less stressful -except for people claiming I get paid for doing nothing in the summer when in truth I'm just getting money that I earned month's ago and has been held until now. That has to rank right up there with the three months vacation bit. It's TWO months and I spend a large amount of that time doing work at school for free anyway.

BC- You seem to be having a run of bad luck, I hope everything clears up soon.

Wish me luck, I'm going to go start purging my shoe collection now!

Unemployment could mess up a free lunch Scott went back to office today to see what the heck is going on with his extention. You'll never believe this, if it wasn't so infuriating, it would actually seem comical-they all of a sudden have no record of him working @ Bank of America. Are you kidding?????? He worked there for 20 years! They've been paying him unemployment since he left, all of a sudden they dont know about it They told him he can't have any money from them until they fix it, they said they'd get it fixed as soon as they can Here is the 2nd part, they told him they wouldve given him $80 a week (gimme a break ) but he makes too much @ Home Depot If his hrs dont get cut at all, he makes $200 a week before taxes and vision insurance....Its a pittance, he has a house to run, child support, etc. I've been crying for 2 days out of shear aggravation.

On a less important subject, but still annoying...I have that 8 day trip booked in December that I have until 10/31 to cancel, I decided to see what airfare looked like for the heck of it...Wouldnt you know jetBlue is having a Boston sale...Between the sale and our airmiles, Scott could fly for $37 each way that week Mine would be $99 each way...Looks like without a miracle, we'll have to cancel
And the week of the travel agent training there is on sale too...Not as good $124 each way, but thats still decent...Cant do this one either

Sorry, I know there are a lot of people waaayyyy worse off than me, but if I dont let it out, I'll explode.

Jen - I think Scott and my SIL should trade unemployment horror stories. She's learned to retell them so that they are funny. I also know what you mean about complaining when you know there are people who are worse off than you are. I am so tired of people telling me that that I'm about to scream. I keep getting more and more duties for less and less pay. I've been topped out on our pay scale for 8 years and I still can't retire for another 7. The raise I will get when I finish this next degree will bring me back up to what I was at 3 years ago. Knowing it could be worse does not help pay the bills.

I have got to get a phone that is easier to use for texting!

OMG Jen! I thought I was having a bad morning! I'd be in tears too from being so mad. Is Scott looking for something to supplement or replace HD? Besides the full time job he's trying to get. Sounds like he's being penalized for money he has potential to make, but actually doesn't. Stinks.

Eliza I know what it's like to be stuck at the same pay level w/no where to go. Hubby has been like that for years now, and they pretty much quit giving raises in my office, unless you have the word Executive in your title. I hope your brother can find a tiara for his wife in time! Abs is quite the stylist!

Whelp got to go to a Tacoma Rainiers (farm club for the Seattle Mariners) game yesterday--he took his mitt, and got 5 players to sign it! 3 of them were pitchers, so maybe some good pitching juju will rub off on it, lol.

Hiya mates... Just up from my han in the ac. It was a nice day but by this afternoon, the humidity started to climb again. I had a busy morning but a nice one. I drove to the barn this morning and helped my friends get ready for their week long horse camping trip. Then I drove to my vets in Aylmer which is a half hour south of London. Had a lovely drive with the windows open. Then I drove back and went to the tack store for more supplement for Cruz. I stopped at Trissas for a late brunch, and then drove to the hairdressers and had my hair cut...short. Then I drove home and headed to bed. Now I have all the windows open and a nice breeze heading into the house. I hope everyone had such as nice a day as I did.

Jen ... I am so sorry mate that things are becoming so stressful for you and that Scott is having such a hard time with UI. I'm not sure how they expect people to survive like this...its so difficult. Huggles mate and I surely hope things change soon.

appy sounds like you had a lovely day! I love getting nice breezes through my windows like that, too...hubby has decided that since he is not supposed to get the cast wet, that oops, the bag he uses in the shower to keep the bandgage dry, will suddenly leak all over the cast, so it will have to come off. They wanted him to come back Friday to have it removed, his supposed pressure and any possible swelling evaluated, then put a new cast on. We already decided that wasn't going to happen. But thanks for confirming our suspicions that these people are loony.

*Sigh*, today could not get much worse... my MIL just sent me a text to let me know that the wife of a friend of the family killed herself last night. She was bipolar and refused to take and stay on her meds. She's had issues for years and at one point was part of a cult. Her current husband got her out of that but she never was fully stable. Their son has crazy allergies, I think something like ADD or ADHD, and is probably going to need some massive therapy after this. I hope to God he wasn't the one to find her, or didn't see her do it. So tragic and senseless.

Eliza, Sea Wolf still has until August 9th before school starts for them. And she was watching the news the other day and saw that three of her former students were arrested for murder! They killed this young engineer in midtown in a robbery in which they only got $100 from the victim.

Got to finish getting ready for work! My boss is giving me a ride today, as my car is still in the shop. I will call them later this morning to see what they have found. Got the thing towed in yesterday and didn't get to work until 8:45am to I had to work until 5:15pm. Yuck.

Been busy this morn, Tammys mother won money @ the casino and wants to take the family to WDW They are booking soon before free dining ends, but they've decided they dont want to go until late Nov, into Dec...Funny thing is, if I'm able to go, we'll be there at the same time I told her she's welcome to join Scott and I for my birthday dinner 12/2 (its after my birthday,but i dont get there until 12/2). It'll be a good commission check! But I wont get it until 2011, lol.

Found out, I think I might go for the Dec trip after all, as long as Scott has firm income...My DVC is booked, no hotel bill, as I mentioned yesterday, the flights are cheap...I can get w/my discount a 7 day park hopper loaded , meaning water parks (prob wont use) etc for $180 That same ticket is $338 to the general public..No sense in buying a new Annual Pass if I can get 7 days for $180...Problem is Scott's tickets, I cant get anyone the discount but me

Was hoping Tammy would stick to orig plan and go next month, would use that commission check to go to the onsite training...Oh well.

I found out this morning that I am officially accepted into Valdosta State University to begin my specialists degree and that I'm getting another pay cut. I'm not sure what the over all total is, but it's in to the double digits now. Oh yeah, and my car is due for the service that costs +/- $700. Suuuuurrrreee, I have that in my pocket right now.

Our neighbor decided he needed to saw up a dead tree this morning at 7 am. I almost got up and told him where he could put that chain saw.

Today is school shopping with the nieces. This should be an experience.

Hiya mates... Logging on in between thunder storms. In fact the largest one woke my up from my han, but if they decrease the humidity, bring them on. This morning should be suspended as I must have turned over and shut off my alarm. So much for my plans to go to aquafit this morning, I missed it. Finally stirred and got to the barn. By the time I was done, it was lunch time...sigh. So I decided to go to Trissas for lunch/breakfast ... where I finally woke up. When I came home, it was back to bed as the humidity was intense and I had a bit of a headache. There is a line of storms south of us now, so I'm not sure if they are headed our way. No tornado's reported so far, but there are rotations in some of the sky. Will just take it as it comes... and the next few days are supposed to be lovely. I hope everyone is having a good afternoon

b4t ... oh my dear mate. That is so sad about your friends wife. I hope too that the son wasn't the one to find her. I pray that they get some help for the family... it will be needed. appy wow, mate, you sure have had your share of wild weather lately! I hope none of those storms turn into tornadoes...keep yer hatches battened just in case! Enjoy the rest of the good weather--- we will share it with you. No rain in the forecast for another week and mild temps.

Hubby got himself to the wound center this a.m. and demanded the cast come off, so they complied. They did comment that his blister was healing quite nicely and gave him some more medicated bandages to use. So all is well again there. No word on if they will have anything more than a family service for the friends' wife. Her family is from Athens, GA so they may fly her back there.

Eliza did the girls pick up any tiaras while out shopping? Congrats on getting into Valdosta! But I can't believe the school is making you take another pay cut. Where does it end? They can't expect you to work for free!

BC how is the car doing? Wow, SW works in one scary area. Is this new school year the one that she gets to be at a different and hopefully better school? I hope so, for her safety!

B4t, Sea Wolf is going to still be stuck at her old school because the school district didn't get the funding they were going to need to replace all the teachers at the school. She's stuck there another year. The rumour is that the school is becoming a magnet school next year, so there is hope!

Jen, hope you feel better soon! My fever passed pretty quickly, so maybe yours will too!

Called the Dodge dealer yesterday since I hadn't heard anything from them, and they still hadn't found the problem with my Neon! The alternator and computer and everything checked out fine. They called me back later to get authorization for more labor time. Something is drawing power from the battery when it's not running, and they need to follow each wire path to see where the problem is. My brand new battery is now down to 50%!

Been getting a ride from my boss every morning, so I have to work her hours, which means getting there an hour later and staying until 5pm.
On the plus side, she is considering buying my house! When she dropped me off yesterday, she asked to come inside and check it out. I told her I would give her a good price!

This day just keeps getting better and better. So far one of my group members for this project we're working on is a no show. That wasn't a huge problem as you hardly notice she's there. She'll do what you tell her, but she never takes the initiative. However...it seems that someone in guidance LOST our folder containing hours and hours of work so we'll have to start all over again.

I still don't have any books and now I may not get the new language lab. Oh yeah, I'm getting more and more excited about coming back to school by the second.

Hiya mates... Just home from the barn on this lovely day. The temp was only about 26C this morning and low humidity too. The sun is even shining... lol. We did have a lot of rain in the last 24 hours though, and the creek at the barn is more like a river. It crested its banks by about a foot, which means its up about six feet. The horses are staying in the pastures on the barn side of the creek, but the mares field is partially under water. Its going to be a few days before they will be able to cross it. I think the water is about two feet below the level of the bridge to the barn. I haven't seen it this high in a long time. There was one downburst yesterday and some rotation in the clouds but no tornado was spotted, so that is good. You can almost hear the grass growing and everything is green again. My day is going to be laundry after I get up from my han... not much excitement for sure. I hope everyone has a great day

I'll never catch up here..
I woke up at 1:30 PM - so, I think I am taking today OFF !!
I think I have moved everything downstairs 5 times - it's all in one corner of the living room right now. I scraped off the concrete and have been putting down underlayment. You have to trowel it on - it's thick, sticky hard to work with. I've gone through 2 - 3 lb buckets and I have a 3' X 3' square left to do. Got some wood out to breathe. Hopefully tomorrow hubby and I can start laying some bamboo.. I have blisters on my fingers from the trowel. Finally figured how to get the underlayment off skin - baby oil and scrub - hard. It's like liquid rubber... This last bucket had about 3 inches in the bottom set up so I'm gonna go back to Lowes with it and see what they can do - I should have been able to finish. Figure we're doing 500 square feet of flooring total. My fingernails hurt and I am bruised... Got 78 more wall/ceiling boards to stain - hubby has 2 walls in living room done - looks Nice !!
My truck is still in the shop..
Still dealing with FIL and MIL... don't Even want to go there.....
