We pirates what can read all had to start somwhere! What were books that you remember loving to read (or have read to you) as a child? This is a hot topic in my office since I have a soon-to-be second grader, and my coworker on the other side of the wall has several grandchildren who will be reading soon. We trade book names back and forth to add to our reading lists.
I'll start! (authors are great, but not necessary)
Johnny Tremain
The Giving Tree
Where the Wild Thing Are
Old MacDonald Had an Apartment House (I think the same person who wrote Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs that is now a movie wrote this..)
That Noodlehead Epaminodas
Little Bunny Follows His Nose (scratch 'n sniff!)
Caps for Sale
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Owl at Home
